My front garden peony has finally bloomed!! Only one on this bush as well, but it is the first year. It smells warm and sweet and the petals feel like silk.

My first rose is blooming as well and of course it had to be the trusty old bush I moved from the back garden, that has survived for who knows how long. It smells sweeter this year and I could sense it before I even saw that it had bloomed. I am so glad I moved it to somewhere it can be more appreciated. Of the 6 cuttings I took months ago, only one has survived. So perhaps in a few years this one will have a twin!

I haven’t got much to speak of in front pots at the moment while I reset. Our senecio has been growing in one pot since last summer. It has faced relentless attacks from slugs but is still going strong. I think this is the best it has looked since we planted it, are the slugs disappearing or just taking the week off?? I also picked up some stunning red ivy leaf geraniums to spill out of these pots. Ideally I would have dozens of these pots to have a mass of them in the front, and some in hanging baskets too. But expenses are catching up to me! 😅

Everything is starting to look so lovely as it comes together in the front. It will be a few more years until everything fills out but the vision is there. I just added an obelisk to the back corner that will rust and house my honeysuckle. And next to the peony I would like to add some height with a clematis or delphinium. I also would like to add some more low growing flowers between my stepping stones so that it is a complete mat. But I can’t complain just now while everything is looking so beautiful!! 😍
