It’s been the loveliest weekend, <<<Scotland won their world cup game>>> and I got lots of new flowers for the garden. 😍 I have so many pots and baskets that need filled and I got a banging start on it the past couple of days. Unfortunately, with so much garden space it’s taking more than a few pots to fill it up. So all summer I may be slowly adding them in. I also found a new guest in my pond, from what I can tell it’s a diving beetle larvae and it is massive. It is tearing through the mosquito larvae that has coated the surface of the pond and I am so thankful for that. I’m taking this as a sign that the pond is coming into balance!!

Elsewhere in the garden, my last peony is blooming and another one of our trees is covered in light pink flowers. The greenhouse is going strong, but the slugs have invaded. 😦 They are doing their best to chew through the sunflowers, but I think the stems are thick enough to survive. And our teasel desperately needs potted up, so that’s for this week.

Today, I cleaned between the patio cracks again in hopes of power washing it this week. I also dug out the soil that was mounded around the brick planters in order to top it up with mulch. I’m hoping this helps keep the tiles clean along here, because whenever it rains the mud overflows and makes a mess. I need to clean off these bricks as well, but they are so old and prone to chipping I may leave them be.

I have been spending so much time on the front garden it’s nice to get a little work done on the patio! I’ve said about 900 times I need to power wash it, will I keep that promise this time? 🥲
