We finally got a few plants to start filling our murky little pond. 🙂 Andrew and I picked out a couple, just to start adding some life to it and hopefully encourage some wildlife. I’ve always dreamed of having a water lily and we ordered a beautiful red variety (which I didn’t even know they came in!) It’s been raining a little more but still has been pretty dry, so the water level is a bit lower than I would like. It is so painfully obvious that I need to add more stones around the edges to cover the plastic, but I cannot be bothered at this time.. 😬

The whole front garden is really starting to come together, it’s hard to believe what it looked like just two years ago. As a reminder, here is where we started. It’s really amazing the effect the mulch has had on making everything brighter. In two or three years, when the perennials are settled in, it will be so lush!

I have just one more week of garden chores before flying back to Pennsylvania for a bit. So I’m waging a war on all of the weeds so that they don’t take over while I’m away! I’ll also be putting mulch down in the back and will be coming back to post. 🙂

You should get a little floating solar fountain for your pond, I think it would help keep the water a little cleaner by ariating it. Also, super cute!

That is definitely on my list!! I heard it keeps mosquitoes from laying eggs. And I think the sound of it would be so pretty 😍
