I’ve been making huge changes to the front garden, so many that I will have to split this post in two. It’s been the project I’ve wanted to tackle most while the weather is still warm, and I haven’t stopped working on it since I came back to Glasgow in July. After the new gravel we put down in my last post, I was desperate to do the same along the house and replace the old red stones that were piled SO high. But to my surprise, underneath was an intact sidewalk! Which was exciting to me because it saved us loads of time and money. And it’s perfect for setting pots on along the wall. The only downside is now I have a massive pile of red gravel in the back garden that will hopefully be used in some other way eventually…

I also started landscaping the garden itself which has come with constant changes and editing. But I’ve got a good patch of plants started to give some direction. I have had my heart set on a purple hydrangea especially, since seeing how beautiful they grow in front of other homes on our street (I do think I’ve planted it too close to other plants so I’ll either move it or wait until it grows and move the other plants- I’m not too worried about it as of now). Andrew also ordered a small birdbath that he planned to put in the back, but I got to it first and created a centerpiece for the middle of the garden with geraniums, celosia, and begonia surrounding it. It’s drawn at least one visitor to it, a robin who visits regularly (and will be featured in my next front garden update).

I have already made several changes from this that I will update soon!
